Act with respect and courtesy to me, your classmates, and anyone else who crosses your path. This includes respecting others’ ideas, time, and possessions.
Be present
Arrive promptly and prepared to learn. Bring all required materials to class each day.
Our time together is to be used to discuss, learn, and explore this subject. It is not the time to work on other subjects' assignments.
Take time between classes to use the restroom and fill up your water bottle. During class is not the ideal time to do so.
Be engaged and willing to learn
Ask questions, participate in discussions, and engaged fully in the lesson. I assure you, its the best/easiest way to learn the content.
Cell phones must be silenced and stored in your backpack during the entire class period.
Ear buds/headphones are not permitted in or around ears during class.
Be accountable
Check the calendar several times a week to stay on top of coursework.
Complete classwork and homework on time, seek help when needed (see #5).
Grades aren’t given in this class, they are earned.
Take Initiative
Ask for help when needed and do so within a realistic time frame. The morning before an assessment is NOT the time to first seek help.
Consequences
The behavioral expectations listed above are in place to promote a positive and productive learning environment. Student behavior that distracts from this collective goal will be addressed in the following manner. Re: cell phone and ear bud/headphone use in class, excessive bathroom pass use (excludes medical and emergent needs), disrespect, tardiness
1st Violation: Verbal Warning, documentation in gradebook 2nd Violation: All of the above + discussion with student outside of class 3rd Violation: All of the above + contact parent/guardian 4th Violation: All of the above + referral to administrator for further action
